Who we are
Court Alignment is based in Toronto, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Court Alignment, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have about it.
What we collect
When you create a profile, we collect:
- Your name and, optionally, a display name
- Your email address, used only for account access and the notifications described below
- Your date of birth, used to calculate your Court Alignment chart
- Your handedness, used for court-side formation suggestions
- Your quiz answers and the personality type they produce
- A profile photo, if you choose to add one
Your date of birth itself is never shown to other players. The Sun sign and personality type calculated from it are shown on your profile.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Calculate and show your Court Alignment chart, Sun sign, and personality type
- Show your profile to anyone you share its link with
- Operate and improve Court Alignment generally
Who can see what
Your profile (name, photo, Sun sign, and personality type) is visible to anyone you share its link with. Your email address is never shown to anyone else.
Third parties we work with
We use a small number of service providers to run Court Alignment:
- Supabase stores your account data and handles sign-in
- Resend delivers the emails Court Alignment sends you
- Vercel hosts Court Alignment and provides basic, aggregate usage analytics -- this doesn't use cookies and isn't tied to your account or any personal information
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with your Google account. In that case Google shares your name and email address with us to create and sign in to your account -- we don't receive your Google password or anything else from your Google account
These providers only receive what they need to do their job for us, and don't have their own right to use your information beyond that.
Cookies
Signing in to Court Alignment uses a cookie that's required for the sign-in itself to work; this isn't optional and doesn't involve a choice, the way tracking cookies do. Our analytics provider doesn't set cookies at all. You can block or clear cookies in your browser's settings at any time.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If an account has had no activity for 12 months, we plan to delete it and the data associated with it.
Your choices
You can update most of your profile information yourself, at any time, from your profile's edit page.
To request that your account and associated data be deleted, email info@courtalignment.com. We don't currently have a self-service deletion button in the app; we'll act on email requests directly.
Children
Court Alignment isn't directed at, and isn't intended to be used by, anyone under 13 years old.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top of it.
